Senate Elections:

Election Commission of Pakistan is holding elections on 2^nd March 2012 for half vacant seats of Senate, upper house of parliament. Final list of candidates will be shared with public on 24^th February. All parties are enthusiastically participating in senate election. 60000 Deaf and Dumb:

In Pakistan, there are about sixty thousand people are deaf and dumb. Major causes of deafness and dumbness are cousin marriage and polluted environment.

Personality – Khawaja Abdur Rehman:

He was secretary general of Pakistan Muslim League (Punjab) before partition of India. He was an apple of his parents’ eye and friend of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal. Kashmiri Khawaja was well educated, well travelled and a nabob in Ambala. He had eleven houses in Ambala on names of his ten children. In 1947, he settled down in Deryaabad in Rawalpindi in a medium size house. Besides writing treatises on dynamics of Islam, he did pieces of poetry as well. He was an avid critic of Sigmund Freud. One of his grandsons in Lahore is trying to publish diaries and memoranda of Khawaja Saheb.

See Sign Language:

Ehad Welfare Organization is a non-profit organization in Sialkot working for welfare of the deaf. President EWO, Rajab Ali Shah has initiated “See Sign Language” awareness campaign. He said that it is very important for everyone to learn and apply sign language in daily life. He said road accidents can also be minimized if NH&MP financially supports SSL campaign. 2 Died and 24 Injured in Blast:

In Dera Murad Jamali, in a remote controlled bomb on motorcycle injured 24 persons. Police is tracking the criminals.

6 Died in Accident in Quetta:

In a collision of car and dumper, 6 persons died.

Police Performance:

In January 2012, Islamabad Police arrested 294 criminals. It recovered 27 kilogram hashish and 1342 wine bottles. I.G. Police has directed police force to use innovative techniques to arrest criminals.
