Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born today in 571 in Mecca, holy city in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Muslims, especially Pakistani Muslims, are observing the day worldwide.

Personality – Sheik Salauddin Nasir:

He is a Pakistani and living a retired life in Brooklyn, New York. He is an Urdu poet and has published score of books. He is above 70 and a serious nature person. He is a great admirer of Sheik Allama Muhammad Iqbal of Lahore and Sheik Saadi of Shiraz. He does not boast but bleed over poor condition of Pakistanis. He has visited Iran, Turkey, Oman and Saudi Arabia. One of his favorite couplets is: “Who listens pangs of the heart, O Nasir! Life spent talking in heart’s dome”.

Criminal Subedar (Retd.) Arrested:

FIA has arrested a retired junior commissioned officer Ghulam Fareed and got 3-day remand from the court of law.

Defunct Religious Organizations:

According to agencies, seven defunct organizations have started their activities in new garb and shape. FIA is investigating their local and international sponsors. Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that concerned SHO will be suspended if these organizations make conventions or rallies. 490 Years Life Imprisonment:

In early November 2011, the Anti Terrorism Court of Pakistan sentenced 6 union leaders to 490 years in jail for terrorism offences, despite the lack of any legitimate evidence to justify their arrest and sentencing. This is a clear violation of the fundamental workers' right to organize and bargain collectively as prescribed in ILO conventions 87 and 98.
